Watch Your Favorite TV Shows on Hulu
The signs are there. Traditional, sit on the couch with the remote, TV is no longer the only way to watch your favorite TV shows. As I write this, my wife is watching the soap opera that she missed earlier today, on her laptop. Internet video is finally starting to hit the big time due to the broad acceptance of high-speed Internet. Advances in technology have improved video encoding to the point where the quality of video is very good, almost comparable to what you see on your traditional TV set. Content providers are starting to take advantage of this emerging market, launching sites and services dedicated to streaming high-quality video to your PC over the web. One such site is Hulu.com and the overall experience on the site are fantastic.
According to the About page on Hulu’s site,
“Hulu brings together a large selection of videos from more than 50 content providers, including FOX, NBC Universal, MGM, Sony Pictures Television, Warner Bros. and more. Users can watch current primetime TV such as The Simpsons and The Office the morning after they air, classics like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Married…with Children, movies like The Usual Suspects and The Big Lebowski, and clips from Saturday Night Live and other popular TV shows and movies.”
There is an astounding amount of content on the site and all of it is easily searchable. You can find full seasons of many TV shows and individual episodes of many more. Hulu makes it very easy to share what you find with your friends and they even allow you to embed their content into your blog.
Here is a video that I embedded from Hulu, featuring one of my favorite shows from my childhood, the A-Team.
The online video revolution has begun and we get to enjoy the benefits.
