I have used the e-sword for years but the updates were problematic. I have felt Rick was not being insightful because this bible is so needed overseas in third-world countries and I would project that 80% plus cannot run the version 9, and since left with-out a database for the old downloads...he is defeating the whole purpose of providing a free e-bible for those who need one, and case in point I could use an indonesian translation for version 7 because when I re-installed my saved v.7 I found I did not have those two translations, ande they would be of great use....oh well
My site stats tell me that most people worldwide are still using XP and older...where is an older version with the depyh of foreign languages???? Blessings anyway

Hope you can advise me. Updated my PC 6 months ago and hadn't touched my plusdeck 2c for a while only to find that I when I opened software got a "hardware connect error" message. I have Windows Vista. Since new PC does not have a serial port, I purchased and installed a PCI card that adds two com ports - still get the error message. I can insert a cassette and the player certainly works but no sound coming through speakers and software controls not working. Any suggestions?

I can turn my XO on and check my email. I would like to be able to use SKYPE on it but have no idea of how to get it installed and operating. Any help with this would be a great Christmas present for me.

God bless any helpers and a Very Merry Christmas to all!

Hi Guys just thought I'd mention it. I had an old external cd case with a built in power supply. I modded the backplate and fitted the com & sounf porst. With a standard 9 pin coms cable and a stereo cable I have a portable plusdeck 2c and ir works perfectly with my laptop.

Please check to see if either of the two later posts we put up - one on sound cables and one on the serial ports - is of any help. Please let us know if you have solved your problem.

Make sure the three sound cables - red, blue and green - are connected properly at both ends. The interface card that came with the Plusdeck is easy; it has its ports color coded. If your sound ports on the desktop are not color coded, then follow this convention: red goes to microphone, blue goes to line in, and green goes to speaker/headphone/sound out. You did not mention if you can hear other sounds on your computer. The black port on the back of the Plusdeck interface card is your new speaker output port; plug your speakers in there. Please report back and let us know if you solved your problem.

I'm having the same problem as Richard. I can play the deck fine. The software does not control the deck -- clock starts when the software is launched but can't record or control the deck from the PC. Any ideas?
